Foamcore is perfect for event marketing and signage as well as informational signage throughout your store. Our 3/16″ white foamcore is printed with state of the art digital printing presses at 720×720 resolution giving vivid and sharp results for your signs.

Foamcore is intended for indoor use, as it is not waterproof, however we use UV inks in a process which last incredibly long and are more resistant to fading. Our foamcore signs can be single or double sided printed up to 48″ x 96″ and are ideal for wall signage, placing a sign on a stand or easel and marketing signage and props.

What resolution should my artworks be?

When printing, the optimum print resolution for digital printers is 300 PPI. Blurring and pixelization will occur if a file is designed with a resolution less than 300 PPI. You should not, however, design with a resolution more than 300 PPI. There will be no change in print quality as far as the eye can perceive. It will also significantly increase the size of your file (increasing file upload/transfer time).

We usually suggest printing 300 PPI drawings, however we understand that you may not have the capacity to modify your designs. If you are unable to print your files at 300 PPI, you will need to take certain steps to guarantee that a lesser resolution will work for you.

Before you begin creating your file, we suggest that you set the resolution in your graphics editor (for example, Photoshop) to 300 PPI. Blurring/pixelation will still occur if the resolution is increased after the start.

We have two sites in New York City’s downtown area. Check which is more convenient: Manhattan’s SOHO district or Brooklyn’s Bensonhurst neighborhood. See for yourself by visiting one of our New York offices.

Do you check the artworks before printing?

Before printing, our staff double-checks all of the work. If we run into any issues with the files, we’ll let you know and show you how to alter the format. Please keep in mind that color and size mode conversions will be done automatically without any input from you.

We examine the drawings throughout the analysis.

– if the files are in one of the acceptable file types (PDF, JPG, TIFF, EPS or PS).
– if the file provided is greyscale (only if you have purchased a color print)
– if the file is the proper size (otherwise, we will scale your work to the required size, however this may result in a loss in quality). There will be no extra bleeding added to the procedure).
– if drill lines have been defined
– if the correct fonts have been included in the file

Why do my artworks require bleed?

All files should have a 2mm bleed on either side to guarantee that there are no white spots on the printed output. This implies that your design should always be 2mm bigger than the actual print format (including pictures and graphics). Failure to do so may result in minor differences, such as white margins. Place typefaces and important components of your design at least 3mm away from the final format (not counting bleeding) and avoid using edges as edges in layouts to guarantee that they are visible.

Optional: If providing data in an open format for printing, the bleed should be 4mm on each side (e.g., A4 size including bleed should be 301214mm). – Please prepare a file with 3mm bleed on either side if submitting files for presentation folders, banners, monthly calendars, packaging, or any other promotional technology items. – Envelopes should have a 1mm bleed on both sides. The elastic frames made of cloth must be bled 15mm.

Please refer to our artwork instructions if you need more information.

What filetypes do you accept for artwork?

JPG, PDF, EPS, TIFF, AI, PSD and PS (PostScript) are among the file types that may be uploaded

Ensure that your PDF file is saved in normal PDF/X format (PDF/X3 or PDF/X1a) straight from your graphics software. When saving artworks, select the “1.3 compatibility” option to prevent issues with layers and transparencies during the printing process.

If you’re transmitting TIFF files, keep the number of layers to a minimum.

Please do not utilize pre-separated data from DCS EPS to prevent color variations or issues with the printed picture.

Are you an environmentally friendly printer?

We certainly are! We provide the most comprehensive selection of soy ink-based eco-friendly printing goods in New York, including recycled business cards, brochures, presentation folders, sales sheets, stationery, catalogs, flyers, calendars, and more. Our regular stock is now recycled paper.

The printing sector has a bad reputation for environmental stewardship, with excessive use of water and energy, paper waste, and the usage of volatile chemicals that result in hazardous waste in the past. One of New York Print’s main priorities is environmental protection, and we try to put our world first.

Here’s how Gorilla Printing works on its footprint

– Using soy-based inks as standard
– Using recycled paper stocks as standard
– Printing techniques that decrease paper use, such as duplex printing
– Modern equipment that consume less energy
– Elimination of hazardous and volatile compounds
– We recycle our printing plates, press blankets, bottles, cans, and containers.
– We recycle obsolete equipment and computer components.

We had to find a new printer fast as our previous guy stopped doing foamcore signs. Found Gorilla Printing online and gave them a call. Eli was very helpful walking us through the products. We ended up ordering a number of signs and were able to pick them up the next morning. Will definitely use these guys again in the future!

Discover More about Foamcore

Foam board signs are lightweight and sturdy, and are digitally printed with brilliant UV ink. Dry erase laminate is available. Made of styrene foam with a paper face and can be printed on both sides. They can be exhibited in seconds and are ideal for presentations, wall art, and other applications.

What Are Foam Board Signs and What Do They Mean?

Foam board signs (also known as “foamcore” are the ideal combination of portability and professionalism. Our 5mm foam board signs are directly printed on styrene foam with a paper face on each side and have the same performance attributes as conventional foam board.

Custom foam board signs are ideal for use as visual aids during presentations, as signage to inform customers of ongoing offers, as point-of-sale displays, and almost any other indoor signage application.

How to Care for Your Product

We strongly advise utilising foam board exclusively inside because it has a paper face on both sides. Foam board signs should be handled with care when moving, exhibiting, and storing them to avoid tearing or other damage. When storing foam board signs, avoid dropping or laying any things immediately on top of them. Water and wetness should be avoided. Using a dry towel, carefully clean the surface. Our dry erase lamination is a great way to protect your foamboard sign while also making it easy to clean. Wipe the gleaming surface with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. When necessary, use a tiny amount of citrus-based cleanser or isopropyl alcohol.

What kind of foam board do you have?

Our foam board signs are made of regular paper-faced memory foam with a stiff foam core. The firm foam centre ensures durability and makes it ideal for interior signage, while the paper-faced sides provide print clarity.

What is the thickness of the foam board? Do you have a variety of thicknesses to choose from?

Our foam board signs are 3/16″ thick (about 0.2″). Various thicknesses of foam board are not presently available online, however we do have other sorts and thicknesses. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding these extra possibilities.

How long will the foam board last? Is it possible for the foam board signage to bend?

Regardless of size, foam board signage will have some pliability. The capacity to bend them will become much more apparent as the symbol gets larger. It is critical to treat them with caution in order to avoid causing them harm. Consider using our stiff plastic signs instead if you want something more durable and long-lasting.

What sizes do you have available? What are your maximum and minimum sizes?

We use industrial-sized printers for large-format printing. As a result, your foamboard signs must be at least 4″x4″ in size. Any sign smaller than that risks compromising the printed design’s clarity. Any bespoke foam board sign can be up to 94″x46″ in size. While we have conventional sizes such as 12″x12″, 24″x12″, 36″x18″, 4’x2′, and 6’x3′, you can potentially design your own sign any size in between.

My design is really intricate and has a lot of colors in it. Will my costs rise as a result of this?

We print all of our signs in full color, whether you want a custom foam board sign or any other type of sign from us. As a result, regardless matter how simple or sophisticated the design element of your sign is, the cost of your sign will not be affected. Rather, the size, quantity, kind, choices, and any applicable shipping and/or taxes will determine the price of your sign. If you need it, we’ll even design your sign for free!

Is it possible to build a double-sided foam board sign?

We do have double-sided foam board signs available. Simply select this option under the “Printed Sides” option while designing your sign. To create a different design on the back of your foam board sign, switch between the front and back sides of your sign by clicking the “Back Side” option.

Do you print directly on the sign’s surface or do you use a printed vinyl overlay?

We can print directly onto the foam board rather than utilising a printed vinyl overlay because the foam board sign has a paper-faced exterior and our UV resistant ink. Regardless of the design, the ability to print directly onto the sign generates high-quality, sharp, and vivid signs.

Will my sign’s printed portion pull away?

Your sign’s printed portion will not tear away. In fact, even if you scratch your sign on purpose, the printed area of the sign should not peel away.

Is it possible to laminate my foam board sign?

Yes! A dry erase lamination can be added to your foam board sign, allowing you to write on it with dry erase markers. This lamination will give your sign a brilliant, glossy surface while also protecting it from fading, scratches, graffiti, and other environmental factors. Dry erase improves the usability of your sign in addition to being entirely customisable with whatever design you choose on the printed regions. You may make any foam board sign into a bespoke dry erase board by selecting “Dry Erase Laminate” from the coating drop-down at the top of this page.

Will the marker on my dry erase foam board sign leave a stain or shadow after it dries?

We use a high-quality dry erase laminate that allows you to write clearly and wipe away clean—even after the marker has been left for days. If dry erase markers are left on a dry erase surface for an extended amount of time or are exposed to the sun for an extended period of time, they may discolor.

If a stain is left on your dry erase foamboard sign, we recommend wiping it away with a non-abrasive cloth and a tiny bit of isopropyl alcohol or hand sanitizer. Citrus-based cleansers are also effective.

Why is delivery so expensive when you offer free shipping?

Unless the transaction requires freight shipment or contains a stiff material over 36 inches in either direction, we offer free shipping on all orders over $75. Rigid signs that exceed specific dimensions must be transported via freight shipping according to simple shipping restrictions. As a result, shipping costs are significantly higher than usual.

Is it possible to use grommets or drill holes in my foam board?

While adding grommets to your foam board sign is doable, we don’t encourage it. Please contact us before ordering if you still want grommets on your foam board sign.

Do you provide color matching services?

Yes. If you’d like us to color match your custom foam board sign, please contact us.

How long will your foam board signage last?

Foam boards are typically used for one-time occasions. Despite this, if they are properly cared for and used, they can live for two years or more. As a result, you don’t need to buy foam board signs on a regular basis; instead, you should use and store them properly.

What’s the difference between foamboard, foam board, foamcore, foam core, and foam signs?

They don’t have any! Foamboard and foamcore are misspellings of the correct “foam board” and product name Fome-Cor. Foam board and Fome-Cor are interchangeable terms. All of these words can refer to a foam sign in which your design or brand is printed directly onto the foam material’s surface. As previously stated, our foam board signs have a foam core with a paper-faced outside for clear printing. When sourcing from a manufacturer or wholesaler, the only slight difference could be the brand or real material used by some sign businesses. They are 3/16″ thick, but other thicknesses are available upon request. We’ll understand that you want a foam sign no matter what name or term you employ!

Is it possible to use foam board outside? Is there ever a time when I can’t use foam board?

Foam board signs are only meant to be used inside. Using them outside, where they will be exposed to the weather, will result in signs that have been damaged. Whether it’s due to rain or severe winds, the foam board signs aren’t meant to be utilised outside.

What are the most common applications for foam board?

Foam board signs are only meant to be used indoors. One-time business and school presentations, point-of-purchase displays in retail contexts, event signage, exhibits at museums and other venues, trade fair signage, and more are all examples of indoor usage for foam board signs.

How can I put my foam board sign up, hang it, or post it?

The majority of foam boards will be placed up on easels, framed, or leaning against a wall. Other options for affixing your foam board signage include using glue, tape, rope, string, zip ties, and so on. The setting and use of your foam board sign will determine how you install or post it.

What is the best way to store my foam board sign(s)?

Your personalised foam board signage should be stored in a cool, dry location. If you don’t want them to bend or crease, don’t put anything heavy on them. Bends and wrinkles will not come out of your foam board sign, unlike vinyl banners.

What is the best way to clean my foam board sign(s)?

For regular mild cleaning of your foam board sign, use a non-abrasive dry cloth or rag.

When your foam board sign is coated with our dry erase laminate, you can clean it by wiping it lightly with a citrus-based cleaning or dry erase cleaner.
