Got a question about our process? Find out here

What resolution should my artworks be?

When printing, the optimum print resolution for digital printers is 300 PPI. Blurring and pixelization will occur if a file is designed with a resolution less than 300 PPI. You should not, however, design with a resolution more than 300 PPI. There will be no change in print quality as far as the eye can perceive. It will also significantly increase the size of your file (increasing file upload/transfer time).

We usually suggest printing 300 PPI drawings, however we understand that you may not have the capacity to modify your designs. If you are unable to print your files at 300 PPI, you will need to take certain steps to guarantee that a lesser resolution will work for you.

Before you begin creating your file, we suggest that you set the resolution in your graphics editor (for example, Photoshop) to 300 PPI. Blurring/pixelation will still occur if the resolution is increased after the start.

We have two sites in New York City’s downtown area. Check which is more convenient: Manhattan’s SOHO district or Brooklyn’s Bensonhurst neighborhood. See for yourself by visiting one of our New York offices.

Do you check the artworks before printing?

Before printing, our staff double-checks all of the work. If we run into any issues with the files, we’ll let you know and show you how to alter the format. Please keep in mind that color and size mode conversions will be done automatically without any input from you.

We examine the drawings throughout the analysis.

– if the files are in one of the acceptable file types (PDF, JPG, TIFF, EPS or PS).
– if the file provided is greyscale (only if you have purchased a color print)
– if the file is the proper size (otherwise, we will scale your work to the required size, however this may result in a loss in quality). There will be no extra bleeding added to the procedure).
– if drill lines have been defined
– if the correct fonts have been included in the file

Why do my artworks require bleed?

All files should have a 2mm bleed on either side to guarantee that there are no white spots on the printed output. This implies that your design should always be 2mm bigger than the actual print format (including pictures and graphics). Failure to do so may result in minor differences, such as white margins. Place typefaces and important components of your design at least 3mm away from the final format (not counting bleeding) and avoid using edges as edges in layouts to guarantee that they are visible.

Optional: If providing data in an open format for printing, the bleed should be 4mm on each side (e.g., A4 size including bleed should be 301214mm). – Please prepare a file with 3mm bleed on either side if submitting files for presentation folders, banners, monthly calendars, packaging, or any other promotional technology items. – Envelopes should have a 1mm bleed on both sides. The elastic frames made of cloth must be bled 15mm.

Please refer to our artwork instructions if you need more information.

What filetypes do you accept for artwork?

JPG, PDF, EPS, TIFF, AI, PSD and PS (PostScript) are among the file types that may be uploaded

Ensure that your PDF file is saved in normal PDF/X format (PDF/X3 or PDF/X1a) straight from your graphics software. When saving artworks, select the “1.3 compatibility” option to prevent issues with layers and transparencies during the printing process.

If you’re transmitting TIFF files, keep the number of layers to a minimum.

Please do not utilize pre-separated data from DCS EPS to prevent color variations or issues with the printed picture.

Are you an environmentally friendly printer?

We certainly are! We provide the most comprehensive selection of soy ink-based eco-friendly printing goods in New York, including recycled business cards, brochures, presentation folders, sales sheets, stationery, catalogs, flyers, calendars, and more. Our regular stock is now recycled paper.

The printing sector has a bad reputation for environmental stewardship, with excessive use of water and energy, paper waste, and the usage of volatile chemicals that result in hazardous waste in the past. One of New York Print’s main priorities is environmental protection, and we try to put our world first.

Here’s how Gorilla Printing works on its footprint

– Using soy-based inks as standard
– Using recycled paper stocks as standard
– Printing techniques that decrease paper use, such as duplex printing
– Modern equipment that consume less energy
– Elimination of hazardous and volatile compounds
– We recycle our printing plates, press blankets, bottles, cans, and containers.
– We recycle obsolete equipment and computer components.

Discover More about Floor Graphics

Indoor floor decals with laminate protection and slip resistance certification. 3.4 mil calendered vinyl with a durable laminate layer, printed with fade-resistant UV ink. With a personalised floor decal, you can give instructions, advertise sales, direct traffic, and more!

What are Floor Decals and How Do I Use Them?

Floor decals are 3.4 mil vinyl adhesive graphics that are generally utilised for advertising in your retail store or company site. Because of their thinness and verified slide resistance, they are sturdy enough for foot traffic but not so thick that they become a hazard or annoyance to customers.

Floor decals are 3.4 mil vinyl adhesive graphics that are generally utilised for advertising in your retail store or company site. Because of their thinness and verified slide resistance, they are sturdy enough for foot traffic but not so thick that they become a hazard or annoyance to customers.

These unique vinyl floor designs may be readily applied to non-porous surfaces like hardwood, tile (without grout lines), laminate, and sealed concrete. Before applying a floor sticker, ensure sure the area has been thoroughly cleaned and prepped for the decal.

What are the materials that your floor decals are comprised of?

Our bespoke floor decals are constructed of a thin adhesive vinyl that sticks to the floor. This vinyl material has proven to be a long-lasting, yet attractive, solution for floor signs.

What is the thickness of the decals? Do you have a variety of thicknesses?

The floor decals are 3.5 mil thick, or.0035 inch thick. For our bespoke floor decals, we do not presently provide different thickness options.

Are floor decals and floor graphics or floor stickers the same thing?

Our bespoke floor decals are made of sticky vinyl that can be placed to a variety of floors. They’re similar to stickers in that they have a sticky or adhesive backing that allows them to stick to a desired surface. Although, in the signs sector, the term “floor sticker” isn’t as prevalent. “Floor decals” or “floor graphics” are the more popular phrases. It’s vital to remember that these unique floor graphics are semi-permanent and intended to be used only once. They should not be applied and then removed or adjusted after the glue has cured. This will destroy the decal and render it useless.

Do you have laminate on your floor decals?

Yes, our bespoke decals come with a gloss laminate finish as usual. This protects the decal from harm as well as dirt and grime. The laminate, together with proper care and upkeep, should keep the printed decal appearing crisp and clear.

Is it possible for my custom floor decal to be cut to shape?

Yes! You can have your floor decals in a variety of shapes, including Square/Rectangle, Rounded Corners (1” radius), Circle/Oval, Custom, or Custom with Border.

You may either upload a custom shape to our design tool or have us produce a custom shape for your sign based on your design using the Custom Shape option (formerly known as Contour Cut). The Custom with Border shape option (formerly known as Halo Cut) is identical to the Custom shape option, except it will leave a small border around the edge of your artwork.

What is the decal’s minimum and maximum size?

Your floor decal can only be 3″x3″ in size. Due to the standard printing of our industrial printers, any size lower than a 3″x3″ will result in print clarity that is less than optimum. Our floor decals have a maximum size of 50″ by 240″ in both directions. If you keep one dimension under 50 inches, your second dimension shouldn’t be a problem because the maximum equivalent length is 20 feet!

Are your decals available in conventional sizes?

You can make your floor decal any size you want, but we also have standard sizes available: 6″x6″, 12″x12″, 24″x24″, and 36″x36″.

Will a four-color decal be more expensive than a one- or two-color decal?

While some firms offer a lower pricing for printing in only one or two colors, we consider that this severely limits your potential to create a visually appealing sign. As a result, we print all of our signage in four colors. As a result, no matter how complex your design is or how many colors it necessitates, your price will not rise. Only if you want a color match with a Pantone color will color impact your price. Please contact us to discuss cost and the process if you require color matching.

Are the floor decals three-dimensional? Do you have any 3D floor decals available?

We do not currently offer any 3D floor graphics, despite the fact that there are many fantastic 3D floor decals available. Our decals are two-dimensional and are applied directly to the floor. Of course, you can use your artwork to create a 3D effect that will look fantastic.

What is the default material’s color?

Our floor decals come in a white basic material. Any white in your graphic will be printed with the white of the material rather than white ink, similar to how most graphics are produced.

Are the decals intended for usage inside or outside? Are they resistant to the elements?

Our personalised floor decals are only meant to be used inside. Using the decals outside may cause damage to the product or cause it to wear out more quickly. They aren’t weatherproof because they aren’t meant to be used outside.

How long will the decals last?

If the decals are solely used for interior purposes and are properly cared for, they can endure for up to 3-5 years with correct care and maintenance. However, within a year of installation, we usually recommend updating the graphics on the floor.

Will the decal’s printed portion fade?

No, the laminate covering will not only protect your custom printed floor decal, but we will also print with fade and abrasion resistant ink.

Are they classy? Do they have the potential to cause my consumers to trip and fall?

Regardless of the laminate finish, our floor decals are non-slick and non-slip. You may confidently position them in high-traffic locations without fear of your customers or clients falling when walking on them. Any moist surface is a cautionary note. There’s no guarantee that the decals won’t be slick when wet, just like any other wet surface. We shall not be held liable for any injuries or damages caused by a slip and fall accident since we are not placing these decals.

Will the decal damage the floor’s surface or the flooring itself?

The surface on which our decals are put should not be damaged. The only potential stumbling block is removing long-standing decals. It can be more difficult to erase decals that have been in place for a long time (more than a year). A sharp edge that won’t cut or scratch the flooring surface but can be used to help peel the decal away from the floor is recommended. To remove any remaining adhesives, a mild cleanser and a rag or brush of some sort may be required.

What kinds of floors can floor decals be applied to?

Our floor decals can be applied to any smooth, non-porous interior floor surface. Rough concrete, dirty or discolored (oil, chemicals), wet, and other surfaces may prevent the decal’s adhesive properties from working effectively. Before you begin, make sure the surface you’ll be applying your decal to is flat, clean, and dry.

Is it possible to drive on floor decals? Is it possible for me to put something on them?

Avoid driving over your personalised floor decals with trucks, forklifts, or other heavy equipment to avoid damaging them. These floor graphics can be permanently damaged by heavy machinery, automobiles, and abrasive objects like pallets. Avoid coming into contact with any abrasive or sharp things.

What are the most common applications for your bespoke floor decals?

Depending on the industry, custom floor decals can be used for a variety of purposes. Most of the time, they’re used to promote an in-store sale or promotion. Directional use is another typical application for floor decals in many situations (retail, conferences, schools, etc.). These decals are ideal for navigating people through new regions while advertising a product, offer, or event, whether they have an arrow or an actual trail to follow. They are frequently used in shopping malls for orientation purposes as well as to drive foot traffic into retail locations. In manufacturing and warehouse environments, floor decals for safety and regulations are nearly always present. Individuals also use the decals for wedding parties and gatherings. They’re frequently utilised to display a monogram, the wedding couple’s names, and other details to round out the wedding decor.

How do I put my floor decals down?

A clean and dry surface is required before applying your decals. After cleaning the area and allowing it to air dry, you’re ready to apply the decal. For larger decals, we recommend installing the graphic with two individuals. This will keep the decal from clinging to itself while it’s being installed.

Simply peel the backing shielding the glue from the decal and put it to the floor. Slowly apply the decal from one edge to the other, working in the same direction. Slowly apply the decal, making sure there are no air bubbles or pockets. Pull the decal up and reapply if there are any air bubbles before proceeding with the installation. If you do happen to make some air bubbles, you can eliminate them by making a very little puncture where the bubble is located. Slowly squeeze the air out of the bubble after the puncture. Only use this method if an air bubble or pocket is discovered after application and removing the entire decal to smooth it out is impractical or inconvenient.

Is it necessary for more than one person to complete the installation?

Large decals should be put by multiple people. This prevents the sticky side of the decal from sticking to itself during installation. Smaller decals can be installed by a single person.

What is the best way to get rid of my floor decal? Will it leave a sticky mess behind?

Generally speaking, decal removal should not leave a mess or be difficult. Decals that have been in place for more than a year or that have been exposed to more extreme temperatures, as mentioned above, might be difficult to remove. Decals can be removed in either situation by slowly pushing them away from the surface. Cleaner and a brush or rag can be used to remove any remaining adhesive.

What is the best way to clean my floor decals?

The decal’s laminate covering should keep it clean and brilliant for a long time. However, light cleaning with a mild detergent and a moist rag or cloth on a regular basis will help keep the decal looking wonderful. When cleaning your floors/decals, stay away from power washers and floor buffers.

What is the best way to store my floor decals?

The floor decals are only meant to be used once. As a result, while applying your decal, double-check that it’s in the right spot. The design is stretched and damaged when the decal is removed.
