What resolution should my artworks be?

When printing, the optimum print resolution for digital printers is 300 PPI. Blurring and pixelization will occur if a file is designed with a resolution less than 300 PPI. You should not, however, design with a resolution more than 300 PPI. There will be no change in print quality as far as the eye can perceive. It will also significantly increase the size of your file (increasing file upload/transfer time).

We usually suggest printing 300 PPI drawings, however we understand that you may not have the capacity to modify your designs. If you are unable to print your files at 300 PPI, you will need to take certain steps to guarantee that a lesser resolution will work for you.

Before you begin creating your file, we suggest that you set the resolution in your graphics editor (for example, Photoshop) to 300 PPI. Blurring/pixelation will still occur if the resolution is increased after the start.

Where can I pickup my printing jobs?

We have two sites in New York City’s downtown area. Check which is more convenient: Manhattan’s SOHO district or Brooklyn’s Bensonhurst neighborhood. See for yourself by visiting one of our New York offices.

Do you check the artworks before printing?

Before printing, our staff double-checks all of the work. If we run into any issues with the files, we’ll let you know and show you how to alter the format. Please keep in mind that color and size mode conversions will be done automatically without any input from you.

We examine the drawings throughout the analysis.

– if the files are in one of the acceptable file types (PDF, JPG, TIFF, EPS or PS).
– if the file provided is greyscale (only if you have purchased a color print)
– if the file is the proper size (otherwise, we will scale your work to the required size, however this may result in a loss in quality). There will be no extra bleeding added to the procedure).
– if drill lines have been defined
– if the correct fonts have been included in the file

Why do my artworks require bleed?

All files should have a 2mm bleed on either side to guarantee that there are no white spots on the printed output. This implies that your design should always be 2mm bigger than the actual print format (including pictures and graphics). Failure to do so may result in minor differences, such as white margins. Place typefaces and important components of your design at least 3mm away from the final format (not counting bleeding) and avoid using edges as edges in layouts to guarantee that they are visible.

Optional: If providing data in an open format for printing, the bleed should be 4mm on each side (e.g., A4 size including bleed should be 301214mm). – Please prepare a file with 3mm bleed on either side if submitting files for presentation folders, banners, monthly calendars, packaging, or any other promotional technology items. – Envelopes should have a 1mm bleed on both sides. The elastic frames made of cloth must be bled 15mm.

Please refer to our artwork instructions if you need more information.

What filetypes do you accept for artwork?

JPG, PDF, EPS, TIFF, AI, PSD and PS (PostScript) are among the file types that may be uploaded

Ensure that your PDF file is saved in normal PDF/X format (PDF/X3 or PDF/X1a) straight from your graphics software. When saving artworks, select the “1.3 compatibility” option to prevent issues with layers and transparencies during the printing process.

If you’re transmitting TIFF files, keep the number of layers to a minimum.

Please do not utilize pre-separated data from DCS EPS to prevent color variations or issues with the printed picture.

Are you an environmentally friendly printer?

We certainly are! We provide the most comprehensive selection of soy ink-based eco-friendly printing goods in New York, including recycled business cards, brochures, presentation folders, sales sheets, stationery, catalogs, flyers, calendars, and more. Our regular stock is now recycled paper.

The printing sector has a bad reputation for environmental stewardship, with excessive use of water and energy, paper waste, and the usage of volatile chemicals that result in hazardous waste in the past. One of New York Print’s main priorities is environmental protection, and we try to put our world first.

Here’s how Gorilla Printing works on its footprint

– Using soy-based inks as standard
– Using recycled paper stocks as standard
– Printing techniques that decrease paper use, such as duplex printing
– Modern equipment that consume less energy
– Elimination of hazardous and volatile compounds
– We recycle our printing plates, press blankets, bottles, cans, and containers.
– We recycle obsolete equipment and computer components.

Discover More about Coroplast

Full-color yard signs printed on 4mm corrugated plastic with weather-resistant UV ink. For displaying your signs, we have wire stakes, metal frames, and more. Ideal for political campaigns, real estate listings, and business marketing, among other things.

What Are Yard Signs and What Do They Mean?

Our 4mm corrugated plastic yard signs with vertical fluting (fluting can be vertical up to 48″) provide a long-lasting and versatile outdoor signage option. Yard signs can be hung or propped in a variety of ways, with optional wire stakes added during the order process, or mounted in frames (available for 24″x18″ yard signs commonly used in real estate).

Yard signs are often used for political advertising, company service marketing, real estate signage, and other purposes in lawns and along highways. They’re also wonderful for directing guests to weddings and other events, as well as as educational banners, yard sale signs, and announcements.

How to Care for Your Product

If you’re using your yard signs indoors, just wipe them down with a moist towel. Clean with warm water and a light liquid detergent for external usage. To protect yard signs from bending, maintain them in a cool, dry place and don’t put anything heavy on top of them.

What kind of material do you use for your yard signs? Do you have any other types of materials?

Corrugated plastic is used to make our yard signage. The corrugated plastic is 4 millimetres (.157 inches) thick and meets industry standards. This material offers a great balance of price and long-term durability. We propose our firm plastic signs or aluminium materials to individuals looking for robust plastic or metal yard signs. These materials can be used in a variety of ways and provide a better long-term alternative for signs.

What is corrugated plastic, and how does it work?

Almost all yard signs are constructed of corrugated plastic. Corplast, Coroplast, and even plastic cardboard are other names for the same substance.
It’s a twinwall plastic with fluting in the centre of two plastic sheets, to be precise. Polypropylene is a common material for corrugated plastic. Reusable packaging, plastic containers, pet cages, and other applications of polypropylene go beyond signage.

Do your yard signage come with wire stakes or h-frames?

Wire stakes (also known as h-frames or step stakes) are available with our yard signage. The metal frame that can be used to put the sign on soft surfaces such as lawns is referred to by both designations. Because of the width of these frames (10″), your sign must be at least 11″ wide to fit the wire stakes. 9 gauge steel is used to make these posts or frames.

Is it possible to order yard signs with two sides? What if the rear of my sign isn’t the same as the front?

Yes, single-sided and double-sided yard signs are available. To get double-sided yard signs, simply pick the option in our design tool when creating your sign. Simply click the “Back Side” button beneath the design tool to create a different design on the back of the sign. Once “2 Sides Different” is selected from the “Printed Sides” option, this button will appear. When the lawn sign will be utilised for directional reasons and will include some kind of arrow, it is typical to employ various designed sides. If your sign has an arrow or other comparable design element, please design it properly.

Do you have any yard signs that are Velcro-attached?

We can add Velcro to the sign, and we frequently do so when attaching the yard sign to an a-frame or sandwich board. However, this option is not currently available on our website. Please contact us if this is anything you’d like us to assist you with.

Do you print signage in one, two, or four colors?

Yard signs are printed in full color with UV ink on all sides. As a result, whatever design feature you desire to include will have no bearing on the final price of the sign.

Is there a discount if I buy in bulk?

Yes, starting with 2 signs, our pricing reflects any type of bulk purchase. The pricing on the design tool will reflect our quantity reductions if all of your signs are identical. If you have a large order, please contact us to see if there are any further savings available.

What are the normal or most frequent yard sign sizes?

The most typical yard sign size is 24″x18.” Most political yard signs are this size. 24″x12″, 18″x12″, 36″x18″, 2’x2′, 4’x4′, and 4’x8′ are some more popular sizes.

Do you only have standard sizes available? If not, what are the minimum and maximum dimensions you have in mind?

We offer any custom size yard sign you would require, unlike other firms who may only offer “small” and “big” or even “small,” “medium,” and “large” sign options. Keep in mind that our wire stakes are 10″ wide, thus any sign narrower than that will not work with the h-stakes. Our maximum dimension is also 96″. As a result, for your custom yard sign, anything within those boundaries is a viable alternative.

When it comes to yard signs, how long do they last?

With proper placement and maintenance, our corrugated plastic yard signs can endure for two years or more. Yard signs are intended to be more of a temporary sign, but if utilised and preserved properly, they can be used more than once. Plastic and metal signs are recommended for longer-lasting exterior signs.

Is it possible to obtain custom-shaped yard signs?

Yes, you can cut your yard signs into whatever shape you choose. Previous clients have requested that we cut directional yard signs into the shape of an arrow, and they have turned out beautifully. However, if you plan to have your signs cut, we recommend that you get yard signs with extremely basic shapes. The use of intricate motifs and cuts on a corrugated plastic yard sign is just not possible.

What are the measurements of yard signs at their smallest and largest?

Our minimum diameter is 4″, but to work with our wire stakes, we recommend no less than 11″. The maximum dimension is also 96″.

Do you have any additional frames available besides the standard 10″x30″ wire stake? What about sign riders made of metal?

Other wire stake sizes (such as 10″x15″) and metal sign riders are not currently available. We recommend purchasing a solid plastic or aluminium sign that can be mounted on a frame or even used as a post.

Do you have any yard signs that are blank?

We do have blank yard signage available. Simply construct your signs without any images and then check out. Please write a note on the checkout page indicating that your signs are purposely left blank.

Do you have a variety of Coroplast colors?

We do not offer any additional colors of corrugated plastic because we print in full color. If you want it to be a different color than white, just alter the background color to whatever you like, and we’ll print it in that color.

Is there a difference in the size of the cut for your yard signs?

Yes. While most yard signs are ordered with a 24″ width, the actual cut of the sign can have a 3/8″ tolerance. That implies your 24-inch-wide yard sign can be chopped down to 23-and-a-half-inch-wide. Viewers of the sign are unlikely to see the tolerance displayed on the sign. On wire stakes, your sign will still fit appropriately.

Is it possible to order wire stakes and metal frames together?

No. Because of the width discrepancy noted above, we print and cut all of our yard signs that will be exhibited in frames with horizontal fluting to ensure that they fit exactly in the frame. This implies that the corrugated plastic fluting on your yard sign will be on the sides rather than the top and bottom. The signs with horizontal fluting are cut at a true 24″ when we cut them. Wire stakes require vertical fluting to display correctly, thus yard signs with horizontal fluting will not work with these.

Usage

Is there a way to get the yard signs off the ground a little higher?

The wire stakes are 10″x30″ and have a standard width and height. As a result, unless you attach your sign using a different manner, you will be limited in how high from the ground you may display it. We propose utilising a washer and bolt or using different external solutions such as hard plastic signs and metal with posts of some sort if you want to place signage that is higher off the ground. Banners are another versatile outdoor option that can be utilised for one-time events or over a longer period.

Do you offer yard sign rental? Are you able to provide installation services?

We don’t rent yard signage, unfortunately. While some sign companies rent signs for one-time events like birthdays or family reunions, we exclusively sell signs that may be purchased. We also do not provide installation services for bespoke lawn signage. With the optional h-frames or wire stakes, installation is simple.

Are your yard signs able to withstand the elements?

Yes, our yard signs can withstand the elements. Our signs are made using UV ink, which means they won’t fade. Although, as with any sign that is used for an extended period of time, some fading will occur. In the short term, rainy conditions will not cause the signs to streak or smear. High winds or extreme weather should be the primary worry for consumers purchasing yard signage. These signs are just not made to endure extreme weather due to the nature of the product. If severe weather is expected or occurring, we recommend removing and storing yard signage.

Is it possible to use yard signs indoors?

Yard signs can, in fact, be utilised indoors. While most people use them outside for things like homecomings, baby announcements, and navigational purposes, they can also be utilised indoors. They’ll be similar to ordering a plastic or foam board sign when utilised inside. One of the key benefits of employing a yard sign inside rather than one of our other materials is that it saves money for a temporary need. Otherwise, one of our other stiff materials would be a better choice because it will provide you more possibilities for displaying your sign.

Will my yard signs be durable enough to be reused?

Yard signs are often purchased for a single or two-time use. The yard signs, however, are durable due to their corrugated plastic construction. Yard signs can be utilised for multiple occasions or events with careful care and positioning, as well as avoiding extreme weather. See below for instructions on how to store your yard signs so that you can reuse them.

Installation & Maintenance

What is the best way to put up yard signs? What exactly are flutes?

Yard signs are fairly simple to put up. In most circumstances, they will park in front of a house or business on a lawn. It is also recommended that an h-frame or wire stakes be obtained in these cases. These frames will be inserted into the yard sign’s fluting (corrugated plastic hollow tunnels). The fluting on vertical signs will be vertical to allow for the insertion of h-frames. After you’ve put the frame into the yard sign, all you have to do now is step on the frame’s lower cross bar and push it into the ground. It’s as simple as taking the frame out of the ground and removing the sign from the frame itself to remove the yard signs.

Is it necessary for me to clean my yard signs? If so, how would you go about doing it?

You may clean your yard signs with a spray bottle and a damp cloth or rag. Any mud, filth, or grime that has gathered on the yard sign should be easily removed with a simple wiping.

What is the best way to store my yard signs?

Yard signs should be kept at room temperature in a dry place. Extremely hot and/or humid environments should be avoided. Also, avoid bending or rolling your yard signs in any manner. The yard signs will have a crease that will not go away if bent. Remove the h-frames from your yard signs before storing them and keep them nearby for future use. With the h-frames, be careful not to scrape the surface of your placards.
